Moved to a new enclosure with a rubber boot, Practical Instrument Electronics, PIE, has presented the PIECAL 525B Automated Thermocouple & RTD Calibrator.
The 525B is the innovative replacement for the PIECAL 525 equipped with a tilt stand, rubber boot, backlit display and 4 “AA” batteries. The calibrator has 14 T/C types, increased from the previous 10, and additional RTD types for Platinum 10, 50, 200 & 500 Ohm for the 1.3850 (IEC 751/DIN) curve.
It also features a new efficient secondary display that shows cold junction temperature and millivolts while displaying thermocouple temperature as well as showing ohms while displaying RTD temperature.
The PIECAL 525B can automatically detect when individual wire connections are open of 2, 3 or 4 wire connections. Likewise, proper instrument operation can be verified by measuring the excitation current.
