Newport SPC4 1/8 DIN NEMA-4 Splash Proof Lens Cover

The SPC4 Option is a front-panel cover which provides environmental protection to NEMA-4 standards for all 1/8 DIN instruments, as seen from the front of the instrument panel. It provides protection against dust, falling dirt, salt spray, dripping water and other non-corrosive liquids. It consists of a metal bezel with integral neoprene gaskets on both sides and an attractive clear polycarbonate lens, which snaps into the bezel and compresses the outer gasket. In combination, the two gaskets and the metal bezel provide a dust-tight and watertight seal at the front of the instrument panel.

Fits Most 1/8 DIN Instruments
The SPC4 Option fits all Newport 1/8 DIN instruments and all 1/8 DIN instruments by other manufacturers if these comply with DIN 43700 and protrude less than 0.89 in (22.6 mm) in front of the instrument panel. DIN 43700 calls out a standard panel cutout of 1.77 x 3.62 in (45 x 92 mm) and an outer bezel dimension of 1.89 x 3.78 in (48 x 96 mm).

Easy to Install
The SPC4 Option is easy to install. The metal bezel is placed over the 1/8 DIN cutout of the instrument panel, and the 1/8 DIN instrument is then slipped through the superimposed cutouts of the metal bezel and the instrument panel. The bezel is then held in place by the instrument, which is fastened from the rear of the panel in the usual manner. The gasket on the back of the bezel provides a watertight seal between the bezel and the instrument panel. The clear lens is then connected into the the bezel. The gasket on the front of the bezel provides a watertight seal between the bezel and the lens.

Easy to Remove Lens
The clear lens can easily be removed by unscrewing the two (2) side retained knobs. This provides access to screwdriver adjustments, pushbuttons and thumbwheel switches, depending on the instrument.
